Q: Who do I contact if I have questions about EdTechProfile?
A: There are several ways to get help. If you have questions about how your site can use EdTechProfile visit How do I get help? to determine who you should contact.
Q: How private is my assessment data and results?
A: All individual user assessment and survey data is private. The only way that your site or district administrator can see your data is if you choose to print it out and give it to them. In addition, all charts and reports for a school or district contain the aggregate results for all staff, not the results by individual. It is important to note that if your account was created for you by someone else, whoever created your account could login as you to view your data since they know your 4 Digit ID and Password. If this was done for you, it is recommended that login and edit your 4 Digit ID and Password to ensure your data is private.
Q: What is the assessment or survey data used for?
A: The aggregate results of the Technology Proficiency Assessment and the Technology Use Survey are used to help plan, monitor, and evaluate technology professional development programs. This may apply to your site or district's training program, or it may be used by a technology professional development provider, such as the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP), your local County Office of Education, or California State University system's Education Technology Professional Development Program (EDTPD). For some state and federal technology grant programs the data is used as a monitoring and evaluation tool. In addition, the data is used at the state level to justify the need for technology professional development funding.
